BARKTIVITIES
about us
Inspired by our three beloved fur babies—who proudly grace our logo—and the owner’s passion for small business, the Bark by the Park (BBTP) brand was born in 2015.
Our first rescue from Paws Chicago. Pico is a Boston Terrier Mix.
Our second rescue from Paws Chicago. Langdon is a Pug /Terrier Mix.
Lastly, our foster fail. Fidel was a loveable tabby who passed in 2022.
Bark by the Park is a pet care provider and online boutique specializing in curated goods for dogs and cats. Our mission is to provide high-quality products while supporting women-owned businesses, artisans, and USA-made goods—wherever pawsible.
What began as a humble venture with pop-ups and festival appearances blossomed into something bigger. We established our first “furever” home in the heart of Lakeview East (Chicago, IL). However, after relocating to our larger Broadway storefront, we faced unforeseen building issues. Ultimately, we made the tough decision to terminate the lease and cease operations at that location in the fall of 2022.
Now headquartered in Boston, we’re reimagining our in-store operations to explore fresh opportunities in this vibrant city. While our online shop is temporarily offline as we transition to a new e-commerce platform, you can still catch us at pop-up events across the Greater Boston area.
Please note that our Chicago service route officially shutdown in early 2024. However, our pet care services remain fully operational, proudly serving the following Boston neighborhoods:

A native Chicagoan, Nicky (she/her) is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business, where she majored in Marketing and Visual Communications. As a recession graduate, she embraced the opportunity to explore her diverse passions before transitioning into the corporate world. Her journey included roles in retail operations, nonprofit work, and animal care, where her commitment to animal advocacy blossomed, ultimately inspiring her to foster and adopt her three beloved fur boys.
While she found success in the tech and consumer goods industries, Nicky realized that the conventional corporate path wasn’t her true calling. Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit and love for animals, she boldly forged her own path as a pet entrepreneur.
When she’s not out in the field with clients or hosting retail pop-ups, you’ll find her managing the Eastie Book Babes and serving as President of Loyola University Chicago’s Latino Alumni Board Affinity Network.
